Will Packer To Preview “Think Like A Man” At Alma Mater, FAMU
Florida A&M University is celebrating its 125thanniversary and honoring Black History Month by hosting “A Tribute To African-American Film.” The festival, which runs from February 3 through February 29, is a partnership with the Tallahassee Film Festival and theTallahassee Film Society, and celebrates films that have impacted the African-American community and American History.
MEET OUR BLACK HISTORY MONTH GAME CHANGERS:
Film director and FAMU alumnus Will Packer will be previewing his new movie, “Think Like A Man,” three months before its commercial release in a screening that will be free to FAMU students.
One of the featured films, “Flying Ace” — about Black airmen during World War One — was released in the 1920s by Norman Studios, a white-run Jacksonville, Fla. enterprise that specialized in producing films with African-American casts and crews.
Lisa Dunbar, senior curator at the Museum of Florida History, said the movie the Flying Ace is “not just a Florida story,” but a national one.
A traveling exhibit from the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum will feature the original Flying Ace movie poster at the Museum of Florida History.
The Tallahassee Film Society will be showing two notable documentaries. “Dare Not Walk Alone”is a 2006 documentary covering St. Augustine’s civil rights protests circa 1964. “It’s close to home,” said John Fraser, founder of Tallahassee Film Society, who describes “Dare Not Walk Alone” as a “good positive film on civil rights. ”
“Alley Pat” is a 2009 documentary about an Atlanta radio personality during the 1950s and 1960s. “Alley Pat was a disc jockey ahead of his time,” said Fraser.
In addition to screenings, the festival boasts a film forum, a writing workshop, and a banquet at FAMU’s Grand Ballroom to honor local citizens who have witness the history of African-American films. The film forum will explore how to succeed in the film industry, featuring assistant director and stage manager, Anthony B Major and casting director, Melvin Johnson.
Sharon Saunders, the Tribute to African-American Films Planning Committee Chair said in a press release, “We have been working in conjunction with several local groups to not only pay tribute to a segment of African-American culture, but to highlight FAMU alumni and staff contributions to the entertainment field as we celebrate FAMU’s 125th anniversary.”

Video Premiere: Kelly Rowland's Keep It Between Us
Kelly Rowland's Keep It Between Us features Lance Gross as her lead. In the video they stroll paris and Kelly reflects on their intimate relationship while looking at recent pictures. The beauty of the city as well as Lance and Kelly's chemistry is a treat. I must say this is a great visual of black love. I'm awe of how rich their skin looks, just pure chocolate. Tupac said, "The blacker the berry the sweeter the juice." I think Kelly and Lance should be a couple in a movie because I would definitely watch it. People love watching people especially physically attractive people. Such a stunning visual I forgot about the beauty of the song it blends so well. It's perfect! Well, here's the video

Natural Hair Straight!
It has been six years since I had a perm. My first year of being natural, I would press my hair. But after I moved to Florida the humidity would create a lot of frizz in my hair. I started doing braid outs and twists out my freshmen and sophomore year of college. The first semester of my junior year, my hair was only in twists. Yesterday I decided to straighten my hair to see the growth because I was on the six month growth challenge. I only completely four months and I missed touching my hair. So, I did twist outs for three weeks.
My hair turned out great, my edges are really straight and I'm close to my hair goal. Maybe five inches away but I'm really happy. This is the longest my hair has grown. I have no idea what to do with it. It's getting frizzy fast because it's been a year since I straighten it. My hair has no chemicals, no weaves and the only color was from back in 2009. I will try to do a YouTube video on my hair care regiment. It is best to leave the hair only with low maintenance for at least a few months. Within these months moisturizing is key. Happy Holidays and for my college students rest well.

Poem : Infinite Love
I lie across his body.
Safely in his arms
Listening to rhythm of his breath
And sound of his heart beat
It is like music
As soothing as a mother's lullaby to a new born.
We connect deeper than words
spoken off the lips of native in foreign lands
Our kisses are massages in erotic places
We made love faces
With light touches
Embraces are relievers as we careful pick negative energy off each others bodies.
Combined and attracted by the soul.
We knew each other in the past
So we have past goals and they continue to elevate.
As we grow deeper and celebrate our love
We are finder's keepers.
I find you.
You keep me.
I keep what you find.
A golden treasure in our love is what our kids will find.
Pass it down to generations so they will never be blind.
Love is not blind only the "out of love" can't see.
But even the blind read braille so they can read
So the out of love see so they can feel love
And pass it on to their children
Love is the power of healing
