Product Review: GRATiAE Organic Skin Care Products

At the Florida Mall in Orlando, Florida, there was a booth selling GRATiAE Organic Skin Care Products. I have never heard of the company but I know a salesperson when I see one; I tried to run away before she bombarded me with unknown products and "so called" cheap prices. But when she yelled,"Do you wear your nails natural?" and I turned around to see if I heard her correctly. She came towards me with a magical nail buffer that shines your natural nail instantly. I fell inlove with the product and she trapped me as she guided me towards the booth. At the booth she told me $25 for the whole nail set and I was opened to the price but then she showed another product. It was a skin exfoliating cream and that interested my mother and her eyes light up when the saleswoman said "The products are natural and made from the dead sea in Israel." I was uninterested and I assumed her words were a lie and the product was a hoax; it had to be. As I stood there and gave the sales woman a straight face saying "You're not getting any money out of me" she puts the cream on my skin. In my mind I screamed; I have eczema on my hands and it was burning slightly. I told the saleswomen about eczema and she responded "Yes, it's good for eczema." I felt the lie again. How does she know? Everyone tells you what they want you to hear. She sprays water on my hand as well as my mother's. We rub our hands spreading the crystals and exfoliating; the burning subsides and I thank God. My mom is excited and I'm bored! In my mind I say it doesn't work for me but for my mother it's a miracle and her hands are smooth. The velvety lotion along with the exfoilating crystals creating a smooth clear skin tone which is just what my mom was looking for, so she ask for prices. I give my mother the "don't fall into the sales spell" look. The saleswoman says, "$50 and I'll give you the hand lotion for free." We gave her the money; she thanked us and said we could get a refund if the product is unsatisfactory.

I've used the products for two days straight and I know that's not long enough to give a accurate review but I know the changes in my body.  The exfoliating cream gets the job done and makes the skin smooth all over but it is strong if you have cuts and scrapes. The is a sea salt based exfoliate and it is only used on the body since it's too potent for the face. It does not leave the body stripped of oils because it has oils within it such as Jojoba and Sweet Almond oil. These oils are very light and they have a non-greasy feel. Great for after shaving and giving your legs a smooth feel all over!

Video Premiere: How To Love

I'm not a fan of the new Lil' Wanye but that's only my opinion and everyone is entitled to having one regardless of disagreement. But when I first heard "How To Love", I thought this was interesting because it was not the typical Wanye song I heard on the radio. I tried to listen to the content and analyze the lyrics but I could not do it because my brain already had a negative opinion. But when the video premiered about three days ago, I gave him a second chance. And I absolutely love it! It has a story and it has a purpose. It is depressing as much as it is true. I love how they showed the girl's life and then they showed how her life could have been. So, it did not end on such a negative note. My interpretation of the video is a girl grows up in a broken home that doesn't show love in it's purest form. Because the girl grows up without love she searches her whole life looking for love in the wrong place. Searching for love leads her to death(she doesn't physically die but inside she has diminished her self-worth.) Even though the video is five minutes, every minute counts.

Self-Improvement Never Self-Doubt

Society is made of peoples rules and regulations; they are opnions basically. These rules and regulations can hinder your lifestyle or goal settings. Some people can go against the grain while others can not. But since society is based on order they dictate when people should make goals and change their lifestyle in a positive way. What holiday do we celebrate and make resolutions? It's New Years! This is probably the worst time to make goals and lifestyle changes because you are not making yourself the main priority; you're making a holiday the main priority. You're not going against the grain; you're running with the crowd. Many people get upset at the end of the year when they have not completed their resolution, it's because society never intended for you to complete it but they did intend on taking your money for the holiday.
      There are times in your life when your goals are your main priority and you  do them effortlessly and you're having fun as you complete them. There is no pressure. This is because you just know you have to do it and your dedication is so strong that the obstacle is not a roadblock but a mere pebble. You pick the pebble up and you throw it behind you. Everyone has those moments, the high moments. Such as Nicki Minaj's "Moment For Life." The difference is celebrities understand how to continously have these moments. That's what makes them seem so glamourous, their goals. Everyone has the power to acheive, everyone believes but no one takes the action! The cliche "Actions speaks louder than words"will always be true especially in goal setting and self-improvement. 
      I'm reading Brian Kim's website and it is about self-improvement. Brian quotes: But somewhere along the line, your natural success mechanism was repressed. It was buried, Buried by negativity. Buried by experience. Buried by fear of failure and forgotten." This quote sums up everything in life or any restraints you may have put on yourself thinking that you were not good enough which means experience and false evidence appearing real (fear) is the greatest roadblock in life. If you let the outside elements destroy the gift inside of you then what do you have left.

j. Cole Phone Stolen & Sex Tape Rumour

Two days ago J. Cole tweeted, "To the girl in the front row with the white shirt and pink bra, before I put this footage online  of you stealing my phone out my pocket lol.  Ima let you save the embarrassment and world star fame, by hittin @kingofqueenz or @iamdjdummy so I can get that back ASAP. U got a few hrs." So while J. Cole is performing on stage in Vancouver a fan that he describes on Twitter steals his phone and now there are rumours of  a J. Cole sex tape with Rihanna. Publicity stunt or not ,J. Cole's album is still coming out 9/27. If this was a publicity stunt it's too early, there's still a month left until the album release date. Cole's personality seems so low key and I feel like he respects his girlfriend and it would be devastating if he cheated on her. Many comments on blog sites such as, realtalkny and killerhiphop.com made comments saying Rihanna is a whore and that she sleeps around. But some people fail to remember if it did not come out of the artist's mouth and you were not with Rihanna during this acts then how do you know. It's disappointing that with fame comes labels but it's not jut fame it's life. Life is full of labels and some match, others don't. To the fan that actually stole the phone, that's bold. There are cameras at all times filming the performances on stage and filming behind the scenes. So I don't understand what the point was except she was a crazed J. Cole fan. But I would not even do that as much as I admire and respect him.

So, if you were at your favorite artist's concert would you have the guts to steal one of their personal items? 

Why doesn't J. Cole have E or one of his friends hold his phone. He should know by now, the fans love him!

Adventures of A Junior

Dorm Life On The Hill

On August 25th, I realized that you can check-in early which is great when you thought you were a day early. Yes, this is what happens when you're so busy the days seem to be ahead of you, but being earlier has it perks. No long lines, no running into students with suitcases that they can't move; so the suitcase sits in the walk way. The campus was completely clear and oddly quiet. I walked to the office and met with an official to fill out paperwork and then I walked to my room. Problem, it was on the top floor and I had accumulated more stuff; I was sweating and tired just thinking about. But, at least I moved to a different building and out of that last room I lived in; the last apartment was a travesty. Mold ran down the walls which sweat more than me when I carried my belongings to the top floor. Now, thats lot of wall sweating. The refrigerator in the new apartment is beautiful but my stove is old and sockets on that side do not work. There are holes in the living room wall and the socket in the living room looks like it was patched. The bathroom looks pretty except for the crack in the wall. In my room the window opens; I thank God! Because last semester there was no circulation in my room; windows were nailed shut. I lived in a closed tomb. But I'm pretty much settled in, just have some essential products to pick up and a run to the financial aid office. That should be delightful!!! Yes, for the sarcasm FAMU instills in you when you arrive as a freshman and the heat stroke. Well see you later and Welcome to the Hill!! :)

Bethune-Cookman Gunman By Pac Center

   

On Friday, August 19 around 10:00p.m. all students in the Pac Center of Bethune-Cookman University in Daytona Beach, FL were told they could not leave the premises due to safety issues. Students were in an uproar on why no details were relaid about the present issue on campus. At the time the Pac Center was showing a Epicurean fashion show and Freshmen Talentshow when the show was interrupted with news that the campus was on lockdown until further notice. The exiting doors of the Pac Center were guarded by security and no one was allowed out. Many students became alarmed and annoyed because all information was held captive and many were ready to leave the campus. The Pac Center was locked down for two hours; students searched for answers on social networks like Twitter and Facebook to communicate with anyone that was not on lockdown on campus. From Twitter and various text messages students informed others that Bethune-Cookman's campus was on lockdown because a former Cookman student along with five woman were walking around campus with an AK-47. There were no reliable sources at the time except that a student recieved information from a security guard, which spread to social networks. According to this source students were not allowed to leave the campus because snipers were on rooftops looking for the armed suspect. According to the Daytona Beach News-Journal, witnesses reported to police they saw a gunman in a black trench coat around the Mary McLeod Bethune Performing Arts Center off International Speedway Boulevard. The SWAT team searched around the area until 2a.m. Saturday morning but they did not find the suspect. Daytona Police Chief Mike Chitwood said, "It was an excellent drill" and that it was great practice in case of an emergency.

Missing: Muammar Gaddaf

Muammar Gaddafi, the Libyan dictator was captured and his fourty-year reign has ended. But just recently an update from CNN's John King USA  informs viewers that Gaddafi is alive and well and it was actually a ploy that he was missing. Gaddafi's sons were reported in danger of being captured by rebels but one of his sons was spotted at a Tripoli hotel by CNN's Matthew Chance. In addition, Gaddafi's reign will drastically effect the gas prices in America and world wide. According to, oil analyst Will Beutel  the ending reign of Gaddafi will cause a 4-6% decrease in gas prices. Libyan can now continue production of oil instead of fighting in a economic war. But on the other hand Helina Croft states that the ending of Gaddafi's reign does not result in lower gas prices if Libya is still unstable and the have no authories to continue oil production properly. Libya owns 2% of oil and they produce 1.6 million barrels a day. The number one foreign country that imports oil from Libya is Europe and France is the second importer.

Season Finale: Nine Lives of Chloe King(Spoiler Alert)

I just finished watching the season finale of Nine Lives of Chloe King and I am so upset for the great writers on the show. I'm upset in a good way; it was well written and it makes audiences love every minute. This is a true season finale that uses every minute and it was planned meticulously in hopes that the ratings increase and I feel it will. They tied up every lose end; I’m guessing to satisfy audiences if the show does not return. But I loved the show's concept since the first episode and I'm a true fan of Alek and Chloe they gel well together, but we all know she loves Brian.

WARNING SPOILER ALERT!!!!!

So Chloe is in between a relationship with Alek and Brian and I actually like it that way because I like Chloe with both guys. Besides, the guys fulfill different needs, but enough of the boring stuff you want to know what happens. So, Chloe and Brian visit his grandmother and his grandmother hints that Brian's father might be responsible for his mother's death. I already figured that; his father has evil-doer written all over his stolid face and stand off body language when Brian talks about his mother's death. Chloe receives a text message from her dad that takes her away from the conversation with Brian's grandmother. The text message says Chloe's dad is in town and he wants arrange a meeting by their favorite place, the cable carts(seen in the book they made together when Chloe was younger). When Brian returns home he confronts his father and gives him the opportunity to explain the death of his mother but it results in a screaming match filled with no answers (Great!). Brian alarms his father he will not stop looking into the death of his mother(Oh Brian's really serious now). 

        When Chloe gets home she is waiting for her mom to leave on a business dinner, so then she can have a mysterious meeting with her father. Mother's intuition makes Chloe blurt that she's in love with Brian(Duh!!). Then Chloe's mother gives a long loving talk love and how she would be devastated if Chloe gets her heart broken. Chloe should have thought about sneaky Alek because he was in her room listening when she blurted "I'm in love with Brian." Alek feels used and leaves Chloe's room in a flash. Valentina is not as witty as she looks because even though she has a weird feeling about Zane(Jasmine's boyfriend) she lets him into her apartment. Zane lies and says Jasmine told him to wait there for her at her house, when Jasmine is being stood up. Valentina is a chatty box when it comes to talking about the unitor and she doesn't notice Zane is the assassin sent to kill her. When Valentina gets up to get more tea, she gets a text from Jasmine stating Zane has stood her up. As Valentina read the text she is not fast enough for Zane’s arrow that hits her in the back. I had faith in Valentina but she is all talk no game, it was a shame. Valentina falls down slowly while Zane is talking trash to her and says: "I've been waiting to do this for a long time; I've replayed it in my head a thousand times. Now you can watch me kill your daughter, you're not dying yet.” I was heated Zane is mere mortal(I don’t actually know) but Valentina was not ready, not at all. 

Back to Chloe, she heads out the house to meet her father but she is encountered by a distraught Brian. He wants to talk about his shouting match with his father. Chloe tries her best to ditch Brian but he is so persistent and gloomy, she could not resist. Chloe lies and says she's meeting Amy so Brian offers a ride. Chloe sucks at lying good try though. Brian drops Chloe off by the restaurant and goes to pull off but he noticed Chloe in his rearview mirror, running across the street like a robber. Amy and Chloe's so called sidekick are also following Chloe behind Brian's car. With all these Mya powers she could not ditch her love Brian or her best friends(Great Job). Brian is so in love and intrigued by Chloe's secrecy he follows her instead of dropping her off. Chloe reaches the cable carts and she is stopped a scrutinizing Brian who feels she is being secretive. Both of her guys are really letting her have it, this episode and I don't blame them. Brian is such a loyal guy who wants to protect Chloe that he vows to go running after Chloe if she doesn't return in ten minutes. Awe he’s sweet! Yay Brian! As Chloe runs to the cable carts, Jasmine comes home to Valentina propped up on the couch with her backed turned. Remember Valentina is not dead, so with her eyes she sends a signal to Jasmine that Zane is behind her. Thank you Valentina for not being such a loser this episode because I was going to scream at the TV that Valentino is weak. As Jasmine fights Zane, Chloe yells for her father but only runs into a trap. Why would she go there alone; she is really not living up to being the unitor. Chloe fights at least five men and beats all of them especially the big guy from the previous episode the throws Alek against the wall. That guy is huge; he really would have killed Chloe in real life but it's a TV show. Yeah, I forget sometimes. Zane must be an advanced fight because he stabs Jasmine in the stomach with a knife and she falls on he fall facing her mother. What a tragedy, why??? I can't believe this Zane person, ugh; he makes me vomit. Chloe is running away after she beats up the five men; good job Chloe or maybe not. Chloe is ambushed by Brian's father’s henchwoman. I have no idea what her name is, it's the woman Brian's father was sleeping with; it is the woman with short hair from the banquet. Well that woman shot Chloe about five times in her stomach and Chloe falls down on the steps and the mysterious woman with the gun leaves. Brian is still waiting outside but he hears the shots. He is great boyfriend even though they're not dating. Brian runs in the building to check on Chloe who is bleeding. Why doesn't Brian call the cops, I don't know, maybe shock. Brian holds Chloe and says, "I love you.” He kisses Chloe and she opens her eyes and kisses him back; I have not idea how many times Chloe has been killed but this storyline is hinting sleeping beauty. Chloe is so into the moment with Brian that she forgets her kiss will be his last because she continues to kiss him resulting in his death. Ugh, Chloe. Alek walks into Valentina and Jasmine’s home to see Zane holding a bloody knife. Alek yells "I am going to kill you” and Zane replies, "That's not how you greet your brother." What ? What ? What/ ? What ? My head started spinning; I couldn't comprehend.

1. Jasmine is probably dead

2. Brian is definitely dead

3. Zane is Alek's brother

4. Somehow, Chloe is fine.

5. Valentina is sedated with poison

Last bit, Amy and her so called sidekick run into the building to find Chloe lying next to a dead Brian. Chloe’s mother's business dinner is with Brian's father who is getting a cab for Chloe's mom. And Chloe’s father is probably dead because Brian’s grandmother made they cable cart story and burns the book in her fire place.

Please ABC Family keep Nine Lives of Chloe King. I love that show!!!!!! Even though they tied up all loose ends.

Eye Twitching

It has been about six days after my eye surgery and I am contend with the results and elated that the double vision has subsided. I can head back to my internships and write articles and help with the social media project. But my eye started bothering me; it started with my long curly eyelashes poking me. That's normal but on the healing eye it was annoying; I could not stop blinking which made it really difficult to finish my article. Also difficult to write this post. After my the eye lashes kept going into my eye then my eye kept moving. I could feel it, almost like it's jumping or turning. I am trying to mentally keep my eye focus but it seems like it fighting me but it's healing fast. I would hate for it to revert back after barely a week. But at least I know what my eyes look like when their straight so it would not be a such a waste. Maybe I just need to go to sleep and wake up with a fresh start. So, hopefully my eye is just making adjustments. I still proud that I went through with the surgery and I don't have any doubts about it. I made my own decision and I stuck with it!

Recovery From Amblyopia Surgery (Eye Muscle)

Hey Everyone this is a video after my surgery. I still have a little bit of double vision and redness but no more blood tears. My eye is no longer closed; it is beginning to open up more.This is a video about recovery after Amblyopia surgery on my right eye. This is my first surgery so I was hesitate but my results seem great so far. I will doing weekly updates

Fresh Salad Recipe

If you're trying to incorporate more dark green leafy vegetables, then there's nothing better than making a fresh salad. The best thing about salad is it's quick and easy but most importantly the recipes are versatile. You can make it spicy, crisp, sweet sour and healthy. When I make salad I like to make it crisp, crunchy, and slightly sour. First purchase a bagged mixed plain salad, preferable organic along with organic baby spinach. The mixed salad and spinach I use is Earthbound Farm. Earthbound Farm is the only company I noticed that sells organic salads in Florida grocery stores such as Publix.

1. First, wash the mixed salad and spinach together. It would be best to wash it with Veggie Wash for an alternative from vinegar. When washing vegetables with Veggie Wash spray the wash and wait about 30 seconds before thoroughly washing vegetables

2. After, thoroughly washing place mixed salad and spinach in the salad bowl along with sliced carrots, cucumbers, green peppers, red onions,  and drops of lemon.

3. Then,  mix all ingredients in salad bowl until all vegetables are equally distributed within the bowl.

4. Add sprinkles of Bragg's 24 Seasonings.

5.  If salad is being served immediately then add two tablespoons of ACV(Apple Cider Vinegar) preferable the Bragg brand. Bragg brand can be purchased at Whole Foods.

6. After Bragg's ACV then add Pompeian's Extra Virgin Olive Oil

7. Next, thoroughly mix Pompeian Olive Oil with ACV in the salad bowl.

8.  Your fresh salad is ready to be served with a crunchy, crisp, zing to it

Ultimate Merger 2 With Toccarra

         In 2011 from the ages 14-25, high school freshmen to college graduates, relationships are faltering. A relationships is not as faithful as it used to be and the core values of people within a relationship are not the same as in the 90s. Images from the media are being thrown at audiences faster than kids reading summer books and most of these images are about the make-up of a sexual relationship. Many kids are not instilled with core values and their family consists of no mothers or fathers but actually childhood friends. So, instead of learning from a responsible adult about the rules of a healthy relationship the youth can only confide in TV shows and their peers, which are not reliable sources. But they are sources that can manipulate your relationship with your significant other. Besides information for a healthy relationship being misconstrued, the core values of a man are not as strong. The salaries of women are equally out to the same as men; there are no more boundaries between the duties of men and women. I ask, is that positive or negative? If there are no boundaries than how can a man be a man and how can a woman be a woman? I'm not suggesting women to only be childbearers and domestic workers, no not at all, but let a man be a man. Let a man remember how to be a man, let a man continue to be a man and if all fails teach a man how to be a man. 

        I was watching Toccarra, the super model from ANTM (American's Next Top Model), on her show The Ultimate Merger. It was appalling the type of men depicted on the show. They all had excuses, they could not hold a conversation nor get their stories straight about their place of residency. They were all sorry men or a half of a man. They depended on their body image to depict the strength of a man, which did not help them. It was their personality and lack of character that disgusted me; they had no integrity or morals. And all of these values start with a stable family so can I blame them for growing up unstable? But to have all the men on the show with the same characteristics was very disappointing. This show reinforces negative images of men to men and women across the country, which only continues the cycle. It may be entertaining for the adult crowds but it is damaging your psyche and being repeated in relationships around you. The media can help change the world but instead it is only increasing the ignorance and not solving the problem. Media used to depict certain nationalities in a negative light but now it's all nationalities, which is affecting the quality of our youth. 

          A male YouTuber by the name of sjsafety18 is a YouTuber who post his honest opinions on relationships. His latest video is really what inspired me to blog about men along with the numerous episodes of divorce court. sjsafety18's video answers the question on why men cheat and I love that he takes a more serious approach to this subject because there are so many videos that are comical on YouTube. He sums up the answer of why men cheat with not being able to suppress primal urges, no core values or standards, and inability to relate to others. After watching his video it made me understand why some many women have problems with their spouse in a relationship and why they’re not seeing eye to eye to certain issues. Many women have become so upset with the lack of intergrity within men that they take on the duties of men but it only results in the man relaxing and becoming docile while the women is depicted as overbearing or b*tchy. Media and families need to demand a positive depiction of a family structure, of a wife and of a man because kids are growing up with misinterpretations.
